Hollywood Poker Raises the Grand Tournament Prize Pool to $750,000
Saturday February 02, 2008
Hollywood Poker, online poker home of celebrities, has raised its big-stack game The Grand Tournament guarantee by a whopping fifty percent to $750,000 this month onwards.
The decision to step it up a notch stems from the favorable response that Hollywood Poker receives on the ever increasing popularity of The Grand Tournament. December's The Grand XX Tournament drew an astonishing 846 entrants, meaning $846,000 in prize money were up for grabs with the main winner taking home around $200,000.
Hollywood Poker's most prestigious tournament in its ever-growing line up, The Grand is held on the last weekend of each month beginning on a Friday. This month's tournament will be played out with its normal 3-day flight structure between February 22nd and 24th. All starting times are at 14:00 EST or 19:00 GMT.
The Grand Tournament is a no-limit hold'em freezeout "flight" event with a 10,000 chip starting stack and 30 minute blind increase structure. Players have the option of two starting days and those who survive from both heats automatically earn a ticket to the Final with their "flight" chip stacks carried over.
To qualify for the Grand Tournament, players can also advance through the many daily qualifier tournaments for as little as a $1+0.20 buy-in.
