PokerRoom.com Is Looking For DareDevils
Wednesday July 16, 2008
The Ongame and Bwin online poker subsidiary Poker Room is using the power of social networking to widen interest in online poker by using the popular and widespread Facebook website, offering members the opportunity to learn and master the strategy of poker through a new application called DareDevil.
DareDevil is a poker-based card game that is all about taking calculated risks. Designed to help users learn and master the best hands in poker, players race against the clock to create the best possible poker hand by discarding and drawing cards. When the clock runs out, players are awarded points based on the cards remaining in their hands.
DareDevil allows players to challenge friends on Facebook to play the game and try to beat each other's high score. By adding the DareDevil application to their Facebook page, players can track their friends' scores in real time and see who is leading the group.
"We are excited to be expanding PokerRoom into the world of social networking", said Hendrik Knopp, spokesperson for PokerRoom. "DareDevil offers players the chance to improve their game and refine their strategy while connecting with friends."
DareDevil gives players one minute to pass each level. Before the minute expires, players must reach the required score for that level in order to advance to the next and work towards having one of the all-time-top scores.
Poker Room was founded in 1999 and is one of the world's most popular online poker sites today, with millions of registered members. Its product line-up includes games such as Texas Hold'em, Omaha, Five Card Draw und Seven Card Stud, a broad selection of tournaments for all these poker games, as well as the largest Pokah-Community, where poker players can interact.
