New Solution Prevents Cheating and Fraud at Online Gambling Sites
Thursday March 12, 2009
The Israeli software developer CogniSafe has announced the creation of a software solution that can detect cheating at online gambling sites. The PitBoss program can detect bots or software cheating at online casinos and online poker rooms.
A CogniSafe spokesman said the program monitors play styles and logic by both patrons and operators. Data analysis reveals whether play is compromised by known fraudulent methods, or whether a new threat has emerged.
Shmuel Knoforty said, "It tries to understand the event and it can be 100 per cent normal, but if you detect a threat it can be diagnosed. It will look for programs that show a threat in the system that works in real time."
Consumers wary of recent online gambling cheating scandals will be glad to find a way to insure fair play at online casinos. And online gambling operators will also appreciate being able to monitor their games for scammers and cheats.
After a year of poor publicity for internet gaming, including a "Sixty Minutes" expose of the Absolute Poker and Ultimate Bet scandals, new means of guaranteeing transparency and integrity should be welcomed.
CogniSafe combined with 21Ventures, a US investment company, last year to research means to detect cheating, and monitor online gaming for honesty in play. The company says the new solution "exhibits intelligent, autonomous and self-learning capabilities."
