As reported by Reuters: "Internet gaming group 888 Casino On Net said on Wednesday it had started 2006 well, with first-quarter net revenues up 42 percent year-on-year.

"Net gaming revenue rose to $84 million (45 million pounds) in the three months to March 31, said 888, which will gain further exposure late on Wednesday through its sponsorship of UEFA cup finalists Middlesbrough FC.

"Poker revenues increased 95 percent year-on-year to $39 million, while casino revenues rose 15 percent to $45 million.

"?Analysts said the figures were largely in line with expectations, and 888's shares rose 0.2 percent to 235 pence by 9:15 a.m., valuing the group at around 790 million pounds?"
