Cake Poker Gives Away $52,000 Jackpot Prize

Cake Poker offers generous promotion, one San Diego, California, resident became $52,000 richer last week.

'Jotun665,' a cash-games player on the poker, frequently played shorthanded no-limit hold'em games between $1-$2 and $5-$10 stakes on Cake in 2009. But thanks to all of the Gold Cards he collected, his biggest poker win came off the proverbial felt as he captured Cake's big giveaway.

"I'm going to take a vacation to Europe this summer and remodel about half of my house," the online player said, when asked what he was going to do with his winnings.

Gold Cards are awarded to players who compete on Cake Poker in real-money cash games and tournaments. At the end of the year, whichever player has collected the most complete deck of Gold Cards wins Cake's jackpot, worth $52,000.

2010 Gold Cards are now up for grabs. To start off the New Year with a bang, the site will be awarding Gold Cards at double the pace until Jan. 9.
