Poker Stars Launches Macau Poker Cup
Sunday February 14, 2010
Poker Stars Macau at Casino Grand Lisboa is pleased to announce the launch of the third year of the Macau Poker Cup which begins on 3rd March and runs to 7th March. It will feature six events as well as live satellites to the Red Dragon event with a guaranteed $1 million prize pool.
As well as the Red Dragon event, with a buy in of $10,000, the series will feature a bounty event, a $200,000 guaranteed hold'em event and a Deep Stack tournament as well as a charity event with $50,000 in added prize money aimed at benefitting local charity.
Last October's Macau Poker Cup set a Red Dragon record of 247 players, creating a prize pool of HKD $2.3 million.
The $10,000 buy in is topped only by the December Macau Poker Cup Championship main event which features a buy in of HKD $20,000. Not only will the winner take away a record breaking first prize but results in all Macau Poker Cup numbered events count towards The Asia Player of the Year standings.
The player named Asia Player of the Year at the end of 2010 will win a one year sponsorship deal with Poker Stars Macau. The new APOY competition starts during the Macau Poker Cup warm ups this month, 19th to 20th February.
Players can take their seats for the Red Dragon and other MPC events the free way by winning a tournament package on Poker Stars. Players can find tournaments under the "events" tab/ Macau in the tournament lobby.
As well as the Macau Poker Cup in March Asia's poker players can also look forward to the Asia-Pacific Poker Tour which returns to Macau on 18th May 2010.
