Playtech reassures it is not an online gaming operator as share price falls
Sunday July 23, 2006
Gaming software company Playtech Ltd has assured investors that it does not provide sports betting software and is not an online gaming operator, after recent drops in its share price.
The company clarified that it provides 'licensed software to operators in online casino, poker and bingo markets'.
Many online gaming companies have suffered large drops in their share prices recently over fears of political meddling in the industry by the US government and after the arrest of BETonSPORTS' chief executive David Carruthers while changing flights in the US en route from the UK to Costa Rica.
