Yatahay Becomes Winning Poker Network
Saturday January 14, 2012
The Yatahay Poker Network has rebranded itself as the Winning Poker Network with immediate effect, with the network changing its website and logo as part of the move.
The Winning Poker Network is comprised of around seven sites, of which True Poker is the best known, although it also includes Americas Card Room, which was formed when the site formerly known as Doyles Room was bought out in 2011. Doyles Room, which had spells on the Tribeca, Microgaming and Cake Gaming before moving to Yatahay, was one of the sites affected Department of Justice domain seizures in May 2011. The legal fallout from this contributed to Doyle Brunson's decision to leave the online poker arena.
The WPN is one of the few networks left that still accepts American players although it has only very low player numbers. According to the most recent reports on pokerscout.com, the online poker traffic monitoring site, Yatahay was attracting an average of 129 players to its network, with numbers peaking at 237. This placed the network 33rd in terms of player numbers, and the 6th biggest of those sites still offering poker to American customers.
Yatahay's rebranding is one of a number that have happened recently. Last week saw the Action Poker Network change its name to the Chico Poker Network, while Bodog has also rung the changes. While the Bodog name remains for most players, the site has stopped accepting American customers with effect from the beginning of 2012. It has however established a new Bovada brand to cater for customers in the United States.
