Sky Poker Tour 6th Round Winners Revealed Following a Cracking Weekend in Blackpool
Sunday July 01, 2012
Following the Sixth Leg of the 2011-12 Sky Poker Tour, which took place at the G Casino in Blackpool on the 23rd and 24th June, Sky Poker are pleased to reveal that Andrew "andrew1947" Garland won the top prize.
Garland is a regular online poker player at Sky Poker, and has taken home a staggering £7,110. Not bad for a weekend's work!
A total of 164 poker players, the majority of whom had qualified online via satellites for as little as £5, took part in a £220 "Bounty Hunter" Event. The tournament was played in a great atmosphere, as regular Sky Poker Tour players chatted amiably with newer players and Sky Poker staff.
In a tense and exciting final, Garland triumphed to claim the £7,100 first prize. He beat James "Colley02" Colley after the pair battled it out for over an hour. For his efforts, Colley won £4,980 for his second place finish.
Sky Poker professional Julian Thew finished in a respectable eleventh. This was his third cash finish on this season's Tour, including a win and a second place, and with only the Nottingham event to go, Thew is a very strong contender to win the overall Sky Poker Tour title this season.
This season's conclusion of the Sky Poker Tour will be held at the Dusk Till Dawn in Nottingham on the 8th-9th September. Players will be able to qualify for the event via online satellites, or buy directly into the Grand Final for £330. The final leg of the tour is certain to be a sell-out event, so make sure that you keep checking www.skypoker.com for more details.
After the final event in Nottingham, the Sky Poker Tour will have given away an overall prize pool of £250,000. If you are looking for an opportunity to win your share of the spoils, join Sky Poker now.
